Ramuh: Thine aura betrays thee, servant of Hydaelyn.
ラムウ : ふむ……イフリート、タイタン、ガルーダ。それにリヴァイアサン……。奴等を払い退けし光の者というのは、お主のことじゃな。
Ramuh: Thou art the Bringer of Light...bane of Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, and Leviathan.
ラムウ : ワシの名はラムウ。黒衣森の民、シルフ族の守護者……。 光の者よ、ここはシルフ族の聖地。
何用で「ヒト」が足を踏み入れたのじゃ。
Ramuh: I am Ramuh, guardian of the children of the forest. Thou tramplest(踏みにじる) upon sacred soil(神聖な土地), Bringer of Light. By what right doth man intrude in this sanctuary of the sylphs?
ラムウ : グリダニアの民は、調和を望んでおるというのか。……ヒトとは、かくも身勝手なものか……まっこと愚かじゃ。
Ramuh: The Gridanians proffer peace? Their words are born of delusion─thine offer, an insult.
ラムウ : お主に、この者たちの願いが解るか。ただ、この森で静かに暮らしたいだけなのじゃ。しかし、ヒトはその小さな願いすら阻害する。
Ramuh: Thou speakest of harmony, yet carest naught for my children's desires. They did but wish to dwell beneath these boughs in solitude─yet even that was too much to ask of man.
ラムウ : シルフ族がワシを招いたのは、その願いを叶えるため……。そこまで追い込んだのは、貴様らヒトの仕業なのじゃぞ。
Ramuh: Thus did they turn to me for succor(援助). The sentence I pronounce(宣言する) upon thy kind is just.
ラムウ : シルフ族にとって、ヒトはヒト。たとえ、グリダニアの民が自然との調和を重んじようと、一方で、帝国の民は森を侵し続ける……。
Ramuh: Gridanian or Garlean, it matters not. The good intent of one excuseth not the misdeeds of the other.
ラムウ : 結果的にヒトは、森に穢れと争いを持ち込むだけじゃ。すべてはヒトが、闇を抱える存在だからにほかならん。
Ramuh: Thy conflicts have brought naught but anguish and misery unto the forest. All blame doth lie with the darkness that resideth(存在する) in the breast of man.
ラムウ : ……そもそも、ヒトはいつから闇を抱えるようになった。始原の時……そこには光も闇も無かった……。まさか、ヒトがヒトたるために生まれたというのか。
Ramuh: Whence(どこから出てきた？) sprung this calamitous(災難の) seed? In the beginning, no such duality(二重性) existed. Were light and dark given form when man was born?
👉"始原のとき"、光と闇の2面性は存在していなかった。人が生まれたときに、光(light)と闇(dark)が形作られたのか？(ラムウの疑問) このヒトは古代人？分割されたヒト？
ラムウ : ならば、ヒトがいる限り、この世から、穢れと争いが無くならぬ道理よな。なぜなら、ヒトが生きるために必要なことだからじゃ。
Ramuh: It would explain much. Not least(特に) why strife(争い) and sorrow follow ever in thy wake. Thou(汝は) canst(can) not deny the urgings(働きかけ) of thine(汝のもの) own nature.
ラムウ : 光の者よ。……それでも貴様はヒトとして、調和の道を歩むというのか。
Ramuh: Knowing that thy mere(全く～にすぎない) presence here portendeth(前兆となる) tragedy(悲劇), wilt thou persist(固執する) in this pretense(主張する) of peacemaking?
ラムウ : ほう、それは聖域を去った子らに渡したクリスタル……。……なるほど、お主はワシの知ったヒトとは、ずいぶん異なる存在のようだ。
Ramuh: Thou bearest the crystal which I bestowed(授ける) upon my wayward(わがままな) charges(預かりもの). That they should entrust(任せる) so precious a gift to thee(汝を)...
ラムウ : これは光の使徒<Bringer of Light>だからではない……。何か特異な……そうか、もしやあやつになら……。
Ramuh: Thou(汝は) standest(立つ) apart from thy kin(親族). Thou art the Bringer of Light, aye...but there is something more in thee...
<汝は親族とは異なっている。汝は光をもたらすものだが、汝の中にはそれ以外の何かがある>
ラムウ : よかろう……ならば、ワシに示せ。貴様の力を。
Ramuh: Very well, I shall consider thy proposal...shouldst thou survive my trial.
ラムウ : ヒトがシルフ族や森との調和を望むというのなら、
この森から帝国を排除するほどの力を、世から闇を取り払うほどの力を、ワシに示してみせよ。
Ramuh: If thou wouldst champion the cause of harmony, I must have proof that thou art fit to play the role. Weather mine ire, and prove to me thereby that thou hast strength enough to stay the Darkness which threateneth to consume thee.
ラムウ : それができぬというのなら、この雷神ラムウが、地表のすべてのヒトに、「裁きの雷」を落とすまでじゃ！
Ramuh: Yet if thou shouldst be found wanting, know that all men shall perish in the storm of my judgment!
ラムウ : 来るがいい、光の者よ。裁きの地にて、貴様を待っておるぞ！
Ramuh: Come to me, Bringer of Light. I shall await thee on the field of battle!
